Funding
Caliness Trust is currently raising funds in order to progress the project.
Phase 1 now complete.
Phase 1 involved raising funds to produce Concept Drawings of the vessel. In addition the Trust was established and Charitable status has been obtained.
Phase 2
£11,558 has been raised. Of this, £1,100 was for a survey of potential users. This has been carried out and indicates a high level of demand for the project.
The remaining £10,458 is to enable the Naval Architect to prepare the tender drawings and put the project out to tender. The design team is currently preparing the brief for the Naval Architect; it is expected that the tender drawings will be completed by the end of 2009.
Phase 3
Further funds will then have to be raised in order to:
• Appoint a Project Manager.
• Appoint a builder.
• Build and equip the vessel.
At this stage of the project the directors of the Caliness Trust are looking for offers of help from people with a wide range of skills and attributes; in particular they would like to hear from people who could help with fund raising, give professional advice or offer other expressions of support.
All donations, however small, will be gratefully received.
